: The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission invited applications to fill 1141 vacancies of Veterinary Assistant Surgeon vide notification dated 18.11. 2019. The selection to the post will be through an examination and interview to be conducted in February next year. You can apply for the post only online and the last date to apply is 17.12.2019.

According to the notification, there are a total of 1141 vacancies available in the Tamil Nadu  Animal Husbandry Service. This is besides the 636 temporary posts being held currently.

The 1141 vacancies announced are inclusive of those reserved for different social categories. However, the said list was not available with the notification. It said the list will be published later on. We will update the details after the release from TNPSC. 

Eligibility Criteria for TNPSC Archeological Officers Recruitment 2019


The cut-off date for determining the age limits is 01.07.2019. Candidates must be at least  18 years old and a maximum of 30 years old. Meanwhile,  there is no upper age limit for candidates, who belong to the reserved categories.

This includes categories such as SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BCs and BCMs and DWs. 

For Differently Abled Persons (Others), the upper age relaxation is 10 years, whereas, for Ex-Servicemen, the upper age limit is 48 years.

Educational Qualification

The cut-off time for minimum educational qualifications mentioned here is 18.11.2019.

To be eligible to apply for the job, you must possess B.V.Sc., Degree (now known as B.V.Sc. & A.H.,). Also, you must be a Registered Veterinary Practitioner. Additionally, you must have passed Tamil as one of the languages in HigherSecondary Public Examination or its equivalent.

Further, the selected applicant should produce a certificate of physical fitness on the form prescribed by a qualified eye specialist.

Selection Process

The selection will be through a two-stage process involving a written examination and an Oral Test in the form of an interview. The final selection will be based on the total marks scored in the written exam and the interview.

The pattern of Examination for the Recruitment

All the applicants to the post must appear for the Written Examination, fixed for 23.02.2020 in two sessions.

There will be two papers. The questions in Paper-I will be set in English only  while  the questions in Paper-II will be set both in Tamil and English.

For the First Paper, the subject will be Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science. The session will be 3 hours and the minimum qualifying mark is 228 for candidates from the General category

Examination Fee

Candidates must pay Rs.200/- (Rupees Two Hundred only) as Examination fee. This can be paid online while submitting the application, using your credit or debit cards or net banking. If it is not possible online, then you should generate a challan online and using it, deposit the amount with any SBI or HDFC Bank branches. But, this should be done within two days submitting the application online.

Additionally, you must pay a One-Time- registration fee of Rs.150/- for registering your name and details with the TNPSC. Registration is mandatory for applying for jobs advertised by TNPSC and this registration is valid for a period of five years.

  2. Register your name and details, if not registered already, by paying a fee of Rs.150
  3. Before applying in One-Time Registration, make sure that you have scanned image of your photograph, all necessary certificates and signature
  4. You also should have a valid, active email ID and mobile number
  5. Upload the scanned documents and complete the registration process
  6. After successful registration, you will get the login -id and password in your email
  7. Visit the site again and look for the latest notification
  8. Locate & Click Notification Number 32/2019 dated 18.11.2019 and apply
  9. You will be asked to log in with your login id and password and do it
  10. Follow the instructions and fill in all the details
  11. You will be required to upload your photograph and signature as per the specification, given in the Guidelines
  12. Once you submit the application, you will be directed to pay the examination fee
  13. After submitting the application, you can print/save your application in PDF format.
  14. You need not send the printout of the online application or any other supporting documents to the Commission. But keep them for verification later


Remuneration/ Salary

The selected candidates will be appointed to the Post with a pay scale of Rs.55500 –
175700 (Level 21) as per Tamil Nadu Revised Pay Rules 2017
